Biography Presentation

This week we will start creating a presentation to use with the biography speech.

If you don't yet have a subject for your at-home biography:

1) Log-in to Google Apps.

2) Create a Presentation

3) Title it Your Name_Bio Presentation

4) Start with a detailed Intro Slide

5) Add at two additional slides.

Slide 1: Intro

Slide 2: Bio Info (name, date and place of birth, school attended, educational accomplishments, picture).

Slide 3: Life Accomplishments (significant contributions/accomplishments, picture).

100th Day of School

This week is 100th day of school. To celebrate, we will be creating digital works of art using different combinations of numbers that total 100.

1) Open KidPix.

2) Select from the different stamps.

3) Use the stamps to create groups of numbers that when added together equal 100.

4) If there's time, click HERE and we'll decorate a digital hundreds chart.

Chinese New Year

This week we will be doing some online activities related to the Chinese New Year. We'll review what you've learned in-class and apply that learning using some different online activities.

Math Fluency Practice

This week we will review math fluency practice websites, and complete several different activities to help improve basic math fact fluency.

2) Sign-in with your pin and complete a fact fluency 2 minute practice. 

3) With any remaining class time, click HERE to select some math learning activities for extra practice.

Mapping and Route Planning

This week we will continue learning about maps. We'll use Google Maps to find our houses and plan a trip to school and back.

1) Click HERE to open Google Maps.

2) Type in your address to locate your house (we will hand out address cards).

3) Zoom in and out and explore the area around your house.

4) Find where the school is and learn how to create a trip to and from school.

Google Earth

This week we will continue learning about maps by using Google Earth. We will explore North America, learning how placemark location and how to measure the distance between two points.

3) Learn the basic tools for using Google Earth and spend some time searching.

Weather Report

This week we will continue working with maps and learning about weather by making a class weather report.

1) Open Google Earth and select a city anywhere in the world.

2) Click HERE to visit Weather Underground and search for the weather in your city.

3) Select a view of your city in Google Earth and copy the image.

4) Click on your class below to access your weather report slide. Find your slide and paste your picture in the slide. Complete the slide weather report and share with classmates.
